On Wednesday 31 January, 2024, from 9:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Chamchuri Ballroom B, Floor M, Pathumwan Princess Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (Public Organization) together with the Center of Excellence for Eco-Energy (CEEE), Chemical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Thammasat University organized a cooperation signing ceremony and the opening ceremony of the project to promote setting greenhouse gas emissions targets for the industrial sector in order to move towards Net Zero using the Science Based Target method. Mr. Surachet Chaipatamanont, Vice Chairman and Chief Sustainability and Risk Officer (CSRO) of Prime Road Power Public Company Limited or PRIME represented the management team to sign a cooperation agreement to set greenhouse gas emissions targets. and said at the event that PRIME is a company that is the leading renewable energy developer in Thailand.. PRIME has Solar Power Plant Projects in Thailand, Taiwan and Cambodia. The 77-megawatt Solar Power Plant is located in Kampong Chhnang Province and it is one of the largest projects in Cambodia. In 2023 this project generated an income of approximately THB180 million for prime. In addition, the companies in PRIME group also undertake a variety of related businesses; such as the buying and selling of Carbon Credit, contracting to install Solar Rooftop systems and consultants and investors in Energy Efficiency and Energy Management System.
With expertise in clean energy and energy reduction management, PRIME has been honored by the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand to set up a company together (PRIME 75%: IEAT 25%) in the name of Prime Industrial Energy or PIE. This will be an important force in supporting various industrial estates become
green, supporting to promote various industrial factories in the Industrial Estate, conduct businesses that are more environmentally friendly, with social responsibility throughout the supply chain for sustainable development.
Last year PRIME was selected to send PRIME staff to join the workforce development project for the domestic and international greenhouse gas verification system to meet Thailand’s net zero greenhouse gas emissions goal. Furthermore, PRIME has prepared a CFO report: Carbon footprint for Organization by using 2022 as the based year.
In 2023, PRIME has revenue from trading and requesting carbon credit certification for electricity production from renewable energy (The International REC; I-REC) of approximately THB2.89 million. PRIME is working to be able to be a producer and trader of IREC in Thailand. As for the Solar Power Plant Project in Cambodia, Carbon Credit Verra project registration is on the process. It is expected to be completed by the end of this year, and will generate income of approximately THB 6.00 – 8.00 million.
